FLORIDA PUERTO RICAN PARADE & FESTIVAL DATE ANNOUNCED FOR 2022

Orlando, FL, December 20, 2021 – Ralph Morales, Chairperson, and the Board of Directors of Florida Puerto Rican Parade, Inc. (FLPRP) announced that the 2022 Florida Puerto Rican Parade and Festival will be held on Saturday, April 23, 2022, along Orange Avenue in downtown Orlando.

The parade and festival that embraces Puerto Rican’s heritage and culture with multiple activities, returns to its usual date in April, which was altered in 2021 by the COVID-19 pandemic. The next year’s theme will be “Education…Pathway to the Future” and will highlight educational professionals that constantly strive to educate and develop opportunities for the community, specifically our youth.

On the other hand, the parade will be dedicated to the city of Ponce, Puerto Rico’s second-largest city well-known as the “Pearl of the South.” Located on the island’s southern coast, Ponce has a historical and cultural downtown, rich musical history, and the hub of economic activity in the southwest of the island.

“We are proud the Puerto Rican parade and festival continues to offer the Hispanic and non-Hispanic community a celebration that highlights our Puerto Rican culture with music, art, food, and entertainment,” said the parade chairperson Ralph Morales. “Thanks to our partners, sponsors, and educators the parade committee will recognize those who have excelled in educating our community while safeguarding and supporting the culture, heritage, and values of our great people.”

Additional details for the 2022 parade, festival, and related events, such as the Gala Dinner, Scholarship Awards, Gua’Kia 10K, and educational activities will be made at a later date.
